Physically,
the church is around 230 years old so most of what you would expect from a 230
year old Congregational church is here: some exterior flaking
paint, large open space with a balcony, elevated pulpit, pews with
doors on them and a fair collection of "stuff" very few people know
what they were used for but they sure inspire the imagination.
In all seriousness, we desire to respect the "historicity" of our gathering place and know it has been a beacon of hope and inspiration for many generations. At the same time, given the cultural and social changes associated with the "media and information age," we know it also limits the "scope" and in some ways the “quality” of the ministry services we can offer. As a gathering place it simply wasn’t built with modern considerations in mind. So we are focused on the future and are "dreaming" beyond the physical structure we currently gather in. If you're looking for a place to worship and serve God with a "wide open future" then come check out "GccLife."
